The Benefits of the Simply Bread App

If you have spent any amount of time running a micro-bakery, you already know what the operational chaos looks like. Orders come in through Instagram DMs. Somebody texts you a last-minute add-on. You are cross-referencing a notes app, a spreadsheet, and a screenshot of a Venmo transaction just to figure out who still owes you for Saturday. By the time bake day actually arrives, you have already spent hours on logistics that have nothing to do with baking. That is the reality for most cottage bakers, and for a long time it was accepted as just part of the job, the invisible overhead that came with running a small, informal food business.

The Simply Bread App was built specifically for the way micro-bakers actually work. Most commerce platforms are built around a simple assumption: the store is always open, and orders come in continuously. For a baker who produces in planned batches, works within tight capacity limits, and fulfills orders on specific days, it does not. The Simply Bread App was built from the ground up around a different model, and that difference shows up in every part of how it works.

The Bake Day Model

The core organizing concept of the app is the Bake Day. Rather than keeping an always-open storefront, bakers create individual Bake Day events that define exactly what is available, how much of it can be ordered, when ordering closes, and when and where customers pick up or receive delivery. Every part of the customer experience, the storefront, the ordering flow, the automated messages, and the reminders is tied back to that event. It is a structure that mirrors how micro-bakers actually produce and sell, and it gives bakers genuine control over their own schedule and capacity.

Bake Days work because everything is decided before a single order comes in. What is being made, how much of it exists, when ordering stops, and how it gets into someone’s hands is all set at the start. That structure removes the constant back and forth that usually defines a typical bake day.

Within a Bake Day, the baker controls:

Individual Quantity Control

A lot of micro-bakers run their sales through social media posts. Messages come in, orders pile up, and the baker figures out what they can make from there. The problem is there is no visible limit. If you offer pizza crusts and 20 people order them but you only planned to make 12, you either disappoint customers or you make 20 pizza crusts. Most bakers make the 20.

The Simply Bread App solves this by letting you set a hard number before orders open. You have 12 pizza crusts available for this Bake Day, you enter 12, and when the 12th one sells, that product closes. The next customer who lands on your storefront simply cannot order it. You never have to track inventory manually, you never have to send an awkward message telling someone you are out, and you never have to bake past what you planned. The limit is set once, and the app holds it.

Everything That Used to Live in Your Head

One of the quietest costs of running a micro-bakery is the mental load that never shows up on a schedule. Announcing a new Bake Day. Reminding people the cutoff is tonight. Confirming that an order went through. Following up on a payment. Reminding somebody where and when to pick up. None of it is hard on its own, but all of it together, handled manually, across multiple platforms, is what turns a bake day into an endurance event.

The Simply Bread App automates all of it through a built-in messaging system that sends via both SMS and email. For most micro-bakeries, mass text communication is not something they can afford or manage separately. Dedicated SMS platforms cost money and require their own setup, so bakers default to an Instagram post and hope the algorithm does the rest. The Simply Bread App makes that a non-issue. When a new Bake Day goes live, a baker-scheduled announcement goes out to every subscribed customer. A cutoff reminder follows before ordering closes. Order confirmations go out automatically at checkout. Pickup reminders go out on the baker's schedule, with location-specific instructions already embedded. The baker configures it once per Bake Day, and the communication runs without them touching it again.

Every order placed through the app is paid at checkout through Stripe. Customers can pay by credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, CashApp, or bank payment, whatever they prefer. There is no invoice to send, and no order to fulfill for someone who never actually paid. Production numbers are accurate the moment ordering closes, because every order in the system is a confirmed, paid order. Funds transfer directly to the baker's bank account from there.

All of those orders land in a centralized Orders view. Rather than piecing together who ordered what from across a DM thread, a spreadsheet, and a text chain, bakers can see everything in one place, what was ordered, by whom, in what quantity, and its current status. Manual orders can be created inside the app too, so in-person or walk-up sales live in the same system rather than outside it. When ordering closes, the baker opens their orders, sees exactly what they need to make, and gets to work.

A Storefront That Looks Like Your Business

Every baker using the Simply Bread App gets a customer-facing storefront built entirely around their brand. Bakers upload their own logo, select a custom color scheme for the buttons, header, and footer, and write their own About Us section and FAQs. The storefront is the page customers land on when they click a baker's link. It is where they browse available Bake Days, read about the bakery, and place their orders. It also functions as the baker’s primary website, removing the need for a separate site.

Because it reflects the baker's actual identity rather than a default platform aesthetic, it functions as a real business presence that bakers can share with confidence.

Flexible Fees, on Your Terms

The Simply Bread App gives bakers direct control over how platform and processing fees are handled. The Simply Bread platform fee can be split between the baker and the customer using a slider in 5 percent increments, anywhere from the baker absorbing the full fee to the customer covering all of it. The payment processing fee can similarly be assigned to either the baker or the customer. A live sample order preview updates in real time as these settings change, so bakers can see exactly how their choices affect the final order total before going live.

Sell in Person Too

For bakers who sell at farmers markets, pop-ups, or any in-person event, Simply Bread also offers a POS terminal that works with the app. The same structure that organizes a Bake Day online carries into the market:

The POS product library is configurable, so bakers can show only a subset of their products for in-person events rather than their full catalog.

More Built-In Tools

The Simply Bread App is not just an ordering and communication platform. The app also includes a set of additional tools that support the fuller picture of running a micro-bakery, each one solving a problem bakers commonly face.

Built for Bakers

Every baker running a micro-bakery is already putting in the work. The Simply Bread App makes sure that work is not buried under the admin side of selling it. The ordering, the communication, the payments, the inventory, and the storefront all run in one system so that when bake day arrives, you already know what you are making, who ordered it, and that every single one of them has paid.

Your customers feel it too. They browse your storefront, pick what they want, pay at checkout however they prefer, and receive automatic updates telling them exactly when and where their order will be ready. There is no back and forth, no waiting to hear if their order went through, and no confusion about pickup. It is a clean, simple experience from the moment they land on your page to the moment they pick up their order.
